12 best projects will be able to undergo acceleration in China and bring their solutions to the international market.

The Moscow Innovation Cluster – Zhongguancun Russian-Chinese technology competition received more than 350 applications from representatives of domestic companies. Among them, experts will select 60 teams that will present their innovative solutions at the semifinals in China this summer. The 12 best projects will be able to pass the development program in Beijing and bring their products to the international market.

A similar selection is being carried out in China. 375 local technology companies have announced their desire to work in Russia. Among them, 60 semi-finalists have already been selected. The 12 best projects will make it to the finals and will be able to present their solutions at the Open Innovations forum in Moscow, visit the offices of Russian companies, meet with corporate customers and get acquainted with the innovative infrastructure of the capital.

The selection of applications takes place on six tracks:
● Software (5G, network security, AI, BigData, blockchain);
● Hardware (IC, IoT, telecom, 5G);
● Industry 4.0;
● New energy sources and new materials;
● Medicine and healthcare;
● Sports, tourism and creative industries.

In Russia, the most popular were the development of modern software and the creation of solutions for Industry 4.0, while in China the most applications came from entrepreneurs developing innovative solutions in the field of sports and creative industries, as well as medicine and healthcare.

Evaluation and selection of projects is carried out by experts from the largest Russian companies from the financial sector, telecommunications, retail, manufacturing, medicine and other industries. They pay attention to the business model of projects, their technological innovation, financial stability, the presence of competitive advantages and intellectual property.

In August, experts will select 60 semi-finalists among Russian projects, who will be able to present their developments in China. In order for the participants to get the maximum benefit from the competition, they are helped to deal with all the intricacies of entering the Chinese market: from assessing its volume and analyzing competitors to choosing the most profitable production strategy and finding local partners. Teams also train to deliver pitches in English.

According to the results of the semifinals, 12 best projects from Russia and China will be determined, which will go through the development program in Beijing and Moscow, respectively.

The Russian-Chinese technology competition was organized by the Moscow Innovation Cluster in cooperation with the Zhongguancun Science Park with the support of the Moscow Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovative Development and the Chinese state-owned company ZGC Group. The organizers are building mechanisms for permanent scientific and technical cooperation between innovative companies in Moscow and Beijing in order to help businesses with the export of high-tech products, increase the number of highly qualified jobs and establish a search for technologies for the requests of Russian and Chinese corporate partners.
